Worn in pre-season. Nycholat was never called-up to the Capitals during the regular season after being injured while playing for the Hershey Bears.
Later in season, when the Caps acquired Dave Hannan, he took number 23 and Nycholat was assigned number 36 and number 38.

A 12-game stint in the AHL with the Lock Monsters was the highest level of hockey that Blue Bennefield reached during his career.
A call-up direct from the UHL, Bennefield was brought in to, well, mix it up a bit on his way to racking up over 300 PIM that season but he also chipped in a couple goals and showed that he was not just a lower league goon.
