The style was the result of a "Design a Specialty Jersey" contest held by the team at the onset of the 2009-2010 season. This winning design was submitted by Mike Ivall.

Set 1. Heavy wear with boarn burns, stick marks, tears, and repairs littering the sleeves and front hem. There are a couple of huge repairs on the back of the right sleeve. Assistant's A sewn on. M&T Back sponsor patch on chest and AHL AllStar Classic patch sewn on back hem.

Set 2. Shows very light wear as Avery had two home jerseys made up for his 8 games with Hartford. This is the jersey he wore in 3 of his 4 home games including his widely covered debut on February 14, 2009. Hartford is where Avery ended up following his NHL suspension for his 'sloppy seconds' comment. Very light wear with a few light stick marks on the front and some light burns on the sleeves. Pretty clearly the jersey he's wearing on his 01-02 Topps Rookie card as the sleeve 2's and 5's on that set weren't typical NYR style.

Hailing from Hamden, Connecticut and originally drafted by the Hartford Whalers, Todd Hall never made it to the NHL but certainly left his mark in Hartford when it was all said and done having scored the Calder Cup winning goal for the Hartford Wolf Pack in 2000.
Longtime roommate of stalwart Ken Gernander, Todd Hall played whereever he was needed during his four seasons (plus 1 game) with the Hartford Wolf Pack. His ability to play defence while also having above average skills on offense made him one of the more valuable players to the coaching staff.
His penalty killing, along side Chris Winnes who was also born in Connecticut, was something to behold as the duo would often pin the opposition in their own zone.
Jersey was won in the May 2012 GameWornAuctions.net auction.
