Worn in pre-season. Nycholat was never called-up to the Capitals during the regular season after being injured while playing for the Hershey Bears.
Later in season, when the Caps acquired Dave Hannan, he took number 23 and Nycholat was assigned number 36 and number 38.

No Meigray or set tagging but plenty of wear on the sleeves and front hem.
Pretty clearly the jersey he's wearing on his 01-02 Topps Rookie card as the sleeve 2's and 5's on that set weren't typical NYR style.
