Name sewn directly on. Very heavy mesh material. Size 50 is penned in on Maska fly tag but the jersey is huge and the sleeves are extremely wide like a goalie cut jersey.
CCM 'Born-On' tag reads 85 07.
Kay Whitmore didn't play a regular season game for the Whalers until the 1988-89 season.

Typical goalie wear with neck staining and pilling on the cuffs. Nameplate sewn on. Numbers sewn on. Name in Russian. This was the first season when the Red Army/CSKA and legendary Soviet and CSKA head coach Viktor Tikhonov split up, with this jersey belonging to Viktor Tikhonov's newly established HC CSKA. Notice the penguin logo features the XK letters, which signify Hockey Club in Russian. All the jerseys prior to this season did not have the XK letters. As with most Russian jerseys, this one stunk so bad, I had to wash it.

Very light wear.
Andrews was injured for one of the three games these jerseys were worn in.
Story is, the league didn't like them as they were too similar in colour to the opponent's road white to wear at home. They then wore them on the road with the opposite result -- too similar to the opponent's home dark.
Grey Alternate style only used for 2 seasons. The 2003-04 season had blue numbers. Tie-down collar. Mesh underarms that are slightly pink.
Acquired direct from team as a gift. Others from this set were given away in a 'Shirts off our Backs' promotion.
