Yikes! It's been nearly 10 months and 24 new jerseys since the last update... As usual, the Wolf Pack collection leads the way with 14 additions, the high points being the TBTC Lawrence Nycholat jersey from 2002-03 and the Daniel Girardi 10th Anniversary Alternate from 2006-07. Other sweaters of note include a 1993-94 Scott Humenuik Springfield Indians jersey (yep, in the Whaler colors), a 1994-95 Paul Brosseau Quebec Nordiques jersey, a hammered 1994-95 Ken Gernander Binghamton Rangers jersey, and a 2003-04 Brandon Dubinsky Portland Winter Hawks jersey.

I've added 14 new jerseys to the collection since the last update; 11 Wolf Pack, a Guelph Storm Jeff O'Neill, and a Boston Bruins Glen Wesley, so for a change, I'm sticking to my Hartford theme for the most part. The one exception is the Brandy Blake Colorado Av's jersey. Yeah, it's different, but I think it's an interesting NHL pick-up from the lockout season.

Recent additions to the collection include a 91-92 Maine Mariners Chris Winnes jersey, another OSHL jersey, this time an Aaron Ward Toronto style, and lastly, an Ak-Bars Vlad Chebaturkin shirt that fellow jersey collector and Wolf Pack fan Ron Webb gave to me. Thanks a bunch Ron!

Just completed a deal, in a sort of complicated and roundabout way, with Brownie, Panger, and Murf in which I obtained a 2002-03 Peterborough Petes Jon Howse jersey. He doesn't really fit my "Hartford" theme, but I've always liked the classic OHL jersey styles -- and seeing as they're all quickly being replaced by silly cartoon like jerseys and logos (Frontenacs, 67's and Greyhounds to name a few...), I figured I should pick this one up!

A couple more additions. Most recently, a Mike Tomlak Milwaukee Admirals jersey. He was one of my favorites with the Whalers and a Hartford jersey eluded me twice in the past year, so this was a consolation prize of sorts. From the Manchester Monarchs, I picked up a couple Wolf Pack alums in Jason LaBarbera and Brad Smyth. The LaBarbera looks great, the Smyth leaves something to be desired. Lets just say that dry cleaning produced most of the wear on that one... On eBay, I picked up another of the Wolf Pack's 98-99 Alternates (Alexei Vasiliev) for a great price. Crazy, you spent 6 years looking for something and then you end up with two in a matter of months. Also added a Terry Virtue IceCats sweater from the pre-season.

Added a few more recently. A 97-98 Hartford Wolf Pack Dale Purinton jersey. Hard to believe he wore a size 54, but sizes didn't really seem to get out of control in the minor leagues until the late 90's. Everything checked out though and it's a legit gamer -- got it for a fair price too. Also added a 00-01 Hartford Wolf Pack Vitali Yeremeyev jersey. Not much to say about that one, but I've always been a bit light on goaltenders since they're generally overpriced; in my opinion anyway.

To date, 165 jerseys in the collection are displayed on the site. Been trying to lay low lately, but picked up a photo-matched rookie Alexandre Daigle jersey today from Dave Frechette. The price was right and I found a couple photo matches so it was tough to pass up. I'd been keeping an eye out for Sens Daigle jersey for a couple years, but with all the talk of them pumping out jerseys left and right, finding one with some wear and a photomatch, well, I had to take it.

Just a few additions since the last update. From "Channey", I added a Wolf Pack style that I didn't already have in the form of a Lee Sorochan 98-99 alternate. Also picked up a Burke Henry shirt too. Through an eBay connection, I also added home and road Vitali Yeremeyev sweaters. They've got that Russian Penguin look to them. With the market trend getting out of control on the North American league jerseys, the Russian jerseys are looking more and more attractive -- as long as I've heard of the player. Just added a Gretzky to the collection! A Brent Gretzky, but a Gretzky still. Also in the same deal landed a Sudbury Wolves Marc Staal jersey. He's expected to be in Hartford or even NY when the OHL season ends, so we'll see....
Also just in is another OSHL jersey from Eric Cairns. Finally got one that fits my theme a little better than the Hordichuk -- better colours too.

Got a little carried away this past month... First I won a Steve Martins Worcester IceCats home jersey from 2003-04 in an AHL auction. Got a great deal. Then I picked up a 1992-93 Brad Smyth London Knights road jersey from Milt. Next came the Meigray call where I landed my 11th and 12 Nycholat jerseys, picking up a set road and a pre-season shirt. I also grabbed a set 2 Alexandre Giroux road jersey as well. Then on eBay, I won a Wolf Pack 2002-03 Brad Mehalko home jersey. Then I went all baseball and picked up a 1991 Candy Maldonado road and a 1989 Goose Gozzo road from the Toronto Blue Jays. Haven't had a month like this in a few years... And now, to pay for it all. Amazing how expensive a bunch of "essentially" no-names can get...

Been a bit since the last update -- not too many additions. I picked up a Jeff Paul Colorado Avalanche 3rd jersey (game issued) off of eBay in February. Also purchased a 2000-01 Johan Witehall Hartford Wolf Pack Set 1 home jersey from David Stillwell (I think it's like our 5th or 6th deal) and the wear on it is great.
And lastly, I picked up Lawrence Nycholat's 2004-05 Hartford Wolf Pack Set 1 home jersey from Meigray (My tenth Nycholat sweater). Sadly, the team auctioned off one of his already, so I was a little unsure of the wear, but when I inspected it, I was quite happy with it. Repairs on both arms and a shortened fight strap. Not near the wear of the 2003-04 Road, but not bad either.

Just landed Lawrence Nycholat's 2003-04 NYR Liberty jersey from forum member Frank Williams. Very pumped to find this one -- now if I could only find the white heritage jersey... In other news, I've added a few more jerseys to the new look site, most notably the Hartford Whalers jerseys.

Last night I won a Matt Kinch road jersey from 2003-04 on eBay from Meigray. Based on the Hartford jerseys they had up (Kinch, Jamieson, Heerema, Rawlyk, and Aufiero), the Kinch is the only one that would have had any noticable wear. I'd have liked the Heerema, but the jersey up for auction was a Navy one and he only played maybe 2 games in that one before we switched to the Ranger blue jerseys. The rest of the guys had really short ECHL call-up stints.

Well, it seems that I've won a jersey in the Cinci Mighty Ducks auction. It's a 2003-04 Alternate Cam Severson jersey. Based on the picture on the listing, looks to have a nice stick mark across the numbers. I'd bid on both Mike Mottau and Cam Severson, and while Mottau played a lot more games for the AHL Ducks that year, the wear just didn't look to be there, so I think I ended up with the better of the two. And who knows if Cam's NHL stint won't continue once the lock-out is done. We'll see...

New layout for my jersey site. Only a small portion of the collection is online now, but I'll be adding more on a semi daily basis. I think the total number of gamers in the collection is around 90 as of right now.

Well, it seems Meigray's $99 - $199 sale sucked me in. I've been trying to do my best at holding off any more additions, but today I received an 03-04 Atlanta Thrashers Pre-Season Marc Savard jersey. I debated on that one and the Patrik Stefan jersey available, but the Savard fits my collection better, he's a better player, and to my suprise, the jersey shows some decent wear and has custom shortened sleeves. A real bargain.

Name is Chris and I've been collecting jerseys since 1995. My first jersey (with a name and number) was a Brendan Shanahan Whalers replica made by Starter. While planning the purchase of another named and numbered jersey in 1997 I stumbled across the "real" thing... I was hooked.

Since then, my collection has grown, then shrunk when I bought a house, and now I try my best to stay focused on Hartford Whaler and Hartford Wolf Pack jerseys.
